VOICED AT:
INTRO: An apparent suicide car bombing outside the United Nations headquarters in Iraq has killed an Iraqi policeman, as well as the attacker, and wounded 12 other people. U-S military spokesmen blame Saddam Hussein loyalists for the attack, as we hear from V-O-A's Michael Drudge in Baghdad.
TEXT: The powerful explosion shook the Iraqi capital shortly after eight in the morning Monday.
Witnesses say a car blew up at a parking lot outside the U-N headquarters in Baghdad, the same building where a bombing in August killed more than 20 people, including the senior U-N envoy to Iraq.
A U-S military spokeswoman, Captain Holly Meeker, called it a suicide attack.
/// MEEKER ACT ///
This is yet another example of former regime loyalists hurting the Iraqi people. Coalition forces call on all Iraqi people to help fight these terrorists by providing the coalition with any information that could lead to their capture and to help prevent further attacks of this kind.
/// END ACT ///
There are reports the driver wore an explosives belt, and had been driving around looking for the right spot to make his attack. (SIGNED).
