INTRO: U-N weapons inspectors have resumed their search for banned weapons in Iraq, after taking Friday off. V-O-A's Greg LaMotte reports, the inspectors visited three sites Saturday, and beginning Sunday, will be able to extend their range of unannounced inspections throughout Iraq.

TEXT: The weapons inspectors traveled to two industrial military sites and a missile complex Saturday, on the third day of their hunt for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

One inspection team visited a facility that Iraqi officials say is a plant used to make light machinery, including spare parts for vehicles.

The same team then traveled to another facility controlled by Iraq's Military Industrialization Commission, which is in charge of developing weapons.

A second inspection team drove to a suspected anti-aircraft missile and ammunition site, about 75 kilometers north of Baghdad.

Reporters have not been allowed into any of the facilities where the inspections have taken place.

The inspectors are looking for any weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, biological and chemical. Iraqi officials insist they have no such weapons.

So far, the inspectors have visited sites close to Baghdad, but beginning Sunday, the first of several helicopters is due to arrive, allowing the inspectors to extend their range of unannounced inspections. (Signed)
