May 2002 British Forces in Afghanistan Find Apparent Al-Qaida Weapons Storage Caves VOA News 9 May 2002 15:10 UTC British troops hunting for al-Qaida and Taleban fighters in eastern Afghanistan say they have found several caves apparently filled with weapons and ammunition. A senior British commander, Brigadier Roger Lane, told reporters Thursday at Bagram air base, near Kabul, that soldiers had discovered four caves in a mountainous area of Paktika province. He said the caves - about two meters high and at least nine meters deep - were sealed by heavy metal doors with padlocks. The British commander said villagers in the area told soldiers the caves had been used by al-Qaida and Taleban fighters. In a related development, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder visited Kabul Thursday, where he met with interim leader Hamid Karzai for talks on international efforts to help rebuild the war-torn nation. He then departed for Uzbekistan. There are more than 1,000 German soldiers with the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.

World events are historic steps in the purpose and plan of God. The outcome of history is up to man - restricted only by sovereign limits imposed by God. The future events are consequences resulting from mankind exercising the gift of intelligence and free will in response to situations developing from past events. This human response is either synchronized to His Will or in rebellion to His Will. Behavior is either the manifestation of love or it's opposite - hate. As Christians we should be involved through loving (caring attitude and behavior for others) actions empowered by prayer, understanding, and submission to His Will. | |||
