Mexico Summit - Terrorism: Greg Flakus speaks with Tom Crosby 22 Mar 2002 12:35 UTC President Bush is in Monterrey, Mexico. Finding and punishing those responsible for terrorism may be on his mind but foreign aid is mostly what he will be talking about as he joins 50 other world leaders at a U-N summit on eradicating global poverty. Mr. Bush is expected to address the delegates today (Friday) and urge them to embrace his new foreign aid policy which...if Congress approves...will include 10-billion dollars for an aid fund which would provide grants to nations that implement reforms. From Mexico, Mr. Bush travels to Lima, Peru, where a car bomb exploded Wednesday near the U-S Embassy killing at least nine people. Mr. Bush says, in his words, "two-bit" (insignificant) terrorists cannot be allowed to take over freedom-loving societies. VOA's Greg Flakus is in Monterrey...and says there has also been some talk of terrorism there by participants at the U.N. conference on poverty. There is no transcript for this interview.
