interview (RealAudio) On Sunday,March 17, Irish Americans -- as well as people of Irish heritage all around the world -- will celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Saint Patrick is Ireland's patron saint and is credited with bringing Christianity to the Emerald Isle. Although the actual holiday is Sunday -- New Yorkers held their St. Patrick Day parade on Saturday. VOA's Adam Philips was on hand for the citywide celebration -- which, he tells News Now's Rebecca Ward, was as wonderful as it always is -- while being simutaneously somber in the wake of the September 11th terror attacks.
