The standoff in the Middle East continues with Palestinian officials saying they will not hold talks with Israel until it pulls its troops out of recently occupied Palestinian cities. Here in Washington...the State Department calling on Israel to make a complete withdrawal in order to facilitate the efforts of U.S. envoy Anthony Zinni in brokering a truce. 

State Department correspondent David Gollust says officials there are emphasizing what they want in no uncertain terms:
