Saudi Arabia's Crown
Prince Abdullah says he will tell U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney that he
opposes a U.S. strike against Iraq when the two men meet
Saturday.
The Saudi prince told
two American television networks (CNN and ABC) that he does not believe U.S.
military action will result in the overthrow of Iraqi President Saddam
Hussein.
The United States has
made it clear it wants Saddam Hussein removed from power, saying he is trying
to acquire or develop weapons of mass destruction. On Wednesday, President Bush
said the Iraqi leader is a problem and that the United States will deal with
him.
Iraqi Vice President
Taha Yassin Ramadan responded by calling President Bush a
criminal.
The vice president is
touring 11 Middle Eastern countries to discuss the war on terrorism, U.S.
concerns about Iraq and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
