North Korean asylum seekers celebrated Thursday after entering the Spanish embassy in Beijing
Four vans have left the Spanish Embassy in Beijing but what is not known is whether they contain any of the 25 people who had sought asylum there 24 hours ago. The Reuters news agency quoted an unnamed Philippine official as saying the North Koreans would be flown to Manila before being sent to a third country, presumably South Korea. The VOA Correspondent in Beijing, Jim Randle told News Now's Paul Westpheling China's Prime Minister Zhu Rongji has said an agreeement had been reached on the status of the asylum seekers:
