Iraq and the
United Nations will hold more talks in April on the possibility of arms
inspectors returning to that country. The announcement came after Iraq's
foreign minister, Naji Sabri met (Thursday) with UN Secretary General Kofi
Annan. It was the first such session in more than a year.
Mr. Annan
briefed the Security Council on the meeting Friday. Both sides said the U-N
talks were positive and constructive, but the question remains whether Iraq
will allow U-N weapons inspectors back into the country. David Mack is the Vice
President of the Middle East Institute in Washington, and a former Assistant
Secretary of State for Near East Affairs. He tells NewsNow's Pat Bodnar that
the West should approach Iraq's moves with a great deal of
caution.
