Veteran Andre Agassi trounced teenage tennis star Andy Roddick in the semi-finals of the Siebel Open indoor tournament in San Jose, California.

Second-seeded Agassi needed just 49 minutes Saturday to beat number three Roddick, 6-3, 6-1, in a battle of American players.

In the final Sunday, Agassi will face top-seed and world-number-one Lleyton Hewitt of Australia, who defeated number-four-seed Jan-Michael Gambill of the United States in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

American tennis stars Jennifer Capriati and Serena Williams both won semi-finals Saturday and they will meet for the seventh time Sunday in the final match of the State Farm tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Top-seed Capriati eased by unseeded Nathalie Dechy of France 6-2, 6-3, while number-three Williams needed three sets to get by number-two Martina Hingis of Switzerland 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

Capriati would regain her world-number-one ranking with a win Sunday, after losing it last week to Serena's older sister, Venus Williams.

Capriati holds a 4-2 edge over Serena in head-to-head meetings, including last year at the French Open and Wimbledon. However, Williams won their most recent match last year in Toronto.

Unseeded Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia has upset number-seven Paola Suarez of Argentina to win the women's title of the Mexican Tennis Open in Acapulco.

Srebotnik dropped a first-set tie-breaker, 1-7, before taking the last two sets, 6-4, 6-2.

On the men's side, fifth-seed Carlos Moya of Spain will face unseeded Fernando Meligeni of Brazil in the finals Sunday. In the semi-finals, Moya beat unseeded Spaniard Albert Montanes 7-6, 6-4, while Meligeni defeated unseeded Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina 6-2, 6-4.
