One of Europe's biggest makers of computer chips, Munich-based Infineon Technologies, is being investigated by regulators for alleged insider trading.

Regulators are reported to be looking to see whether some shareholders knew the company would release a profit warning last June, before the warning was actually announced. The announcement sparked a heavy sell-off of Infineon shares at that time. On Monday share prices of Infineon rose after the company said it is seeing improved demand for its products.
