Sweden's Annika Sorenstam has won her second straight sudden-death playoff in as many golf tournaments, with a birdie on the first extra hole of the season-opening Takefuji Classic in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

The LPGA reigning player of the year edged Canada's Lorie Kane Saturday. Both players finished the regulation three rounds tied at 196, 14-under.

Sorenstam, who earned her 32nd career win, came to Hawaii from a victory one week ago in Austraolia, where she beat Karrie Webb on the fourth extra hole of the Australian Masters.

Webb took the women's Australian Open in Melbourne Sunday in a playoff with Norway's Suzann Pettersen.

Webb sank a birdie putt on the first extra hole for the victory. The two leaders finished four rounds of regulation tied at 10-under, with 278.

And in men's golf, Tom Watson has a two-shot lead over three other golfers heading into the third and final round of a senior event at Santa Clarita, California.
