Johansson Reaches Tennis Semifinals in Dubai Open

Australian Open tennis champion Thomas Johansson has reached the semifinals of the Dubai Open tennis tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

The third-seeded Swedish player defeated fifth-seeded Tim Henman of Britain in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. He will take on Morocco's Younes El Aynaoui in the final four. El Aynaoui scored a three-set win over Germany's Rainer Schuettler, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

The other semifinal has Jiri Novak of the Czech Republic taking on Frenchman Fabrice Santoro. Novak defeated second seed Yevgeny Kafelnikov of Russia in less than one hour, 6-1, 6-1. Santoro defeated Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6.
