/// Thanks for the Memories ///
Born in England in 1903, Bob Hope came to the United States as a child and, by 1930, was starring on the vaudeville stage. In 1938, he came to Hollywood to appear in radio and movies. On the silver screen, he is best remembered for his so-called "Road" comedies with singer Bing Crosby, including "Road to Bali" and "Road to Morocco."
Beginning in 1941, he entertained the troops at battlefront locations from Europe to Vietnam. He staged his last overseas show in 1990, on the eve of the Gulf war.
Bob Hope died of pneumonia Sunday evening at his home in Los Angeles, with family members by his side. (Signed)
