For the second year in a row, Cuba has charged Argentina with condemning the island's human rights record in exchange for financial aid from Washington.
Cuba's official media say Argentina is guilty of what it calls "political bootlicking" toward the United States. The name-calling comes one day after Argentine Foreign Minister Carlos Ruckauf discussed Argentina's economic crisis with U.S. officials in Washington.
Cuban President Fidel Castro made a similar accusation against Buenos Aires about this same time last year, causing Argentina to recall its ambassador to Cuba.
Meanwhile, Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque has accused Washington of pressuring nations to vote against Cuba at the annual U.N. Human Rights Commission meeting in April in Geneva, Switzerland.
