South Africa Advances in African Cup Tournament

South Africa's national soccer team has defeated Morocco, 3-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations tournament in Mali.

After managing only two scoreless draws earlier in the tournament, the Bafana Bafana got goals from Danish-based midfielder Sibusiso Zuma, Thabo Mngomeni and substitute Siyabonga Nomvete. South Africa leads group-B with five points and will play host nation Mali in the quarterfinals February third.

Meanwhile, Ghana advanced to the final eight with a 2-1 in over Burkina Faso. South Africa also finished with five points, but was second behind South Africa on goal difference. Ghana takes on Nigeria in the quarterfinals.
