In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, U.S. officials are taking extra measures to ensure security at President Bush's State of the Union address.
The Federal Aviation Administration is restricting flight traffic around Washington, and teams of bomb-sniffing dogs have been led through the U.S. Capitol chamber where the president is speaking,
Hundreds of extra police have been put on duty, and the grounds of the U.S. Capitol were closed to unauthorized persons three hours before speech time.
A Capitol Police spokesman, Lt. Dan Nichols, says there are other security measures which people attending the speech will not be able to see, and which he is not allowed to discuss.
