Four time world Formula One driving champion Michael Schumacher of Germany and Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello have both escaped injury in crashes during testing in Spain.

Schumacher crashed his F-2001 car in the 12th turn of Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya Wednesday. He smashed into a protective tire barrier, and his car was damaged, but he was not hurt.

About an hour later, Brazilian driver Barrichello crashed in the ninth turn of the circuit, but he was not injured. Both cars will be taken to Ferrari headquarters in Italy for repairs.

The accidents come less than two weeks after Barrichello wrecked his car on a course in Eastern Spain. The Brazilian suffered only minor bruises in that mishap.
