Japanese share prices closed lower Tuesday, while the U.S. dollar fell against the Japanese yen.
Tokyo's key Nikkei index dropped 195 points to finish at 10,026.
In Tokyo currency trading, the dollar ended the selling day at 133.04 yen, down 1.66 yen from the same time Monday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold closed at $278.15 an ounce, down $1.60 from Monday's close.
