Reports from Vietnam say an Australian woman of Vietnamese origin is facing a possible death sentence after she was arrested carrying more than 800 grams of heroin.
The state-run Than Nein newspaper says 34-year-old Nguyen Thi Kim Hieu was stopped at Ho Chi Minh City's international airport Saturday as she boarded a flight to Sydney.
The report says authorities found nearly 812 grams of heroin concealed in six packages underneath her clothing.
Under Vietnam's tough drug laws, anyone found in possession of more than 300 grams of heroin could face the death penalty.
