South Korean President Kim Dae-jung plans to re-shuffle his cabinet this week, but a meeting at which his ministers were all to have resigned has been postponed.
It was not immediately clear how many ministers will be replaced in the changes or when the reshuffle will take place.
Officials in the presidential Blue House in Seoul said Sunday as many as seven key ministers could be replaced by February 4th.
They include the prime minister, the foreign minister and the presidential economic team.
Some of the ministers could be reassigned, while others may be asked to resign.
President Kim apologized to South Koreans earlier this month for a series of influence-peddling scandals involving government officials.
Mr. Kim is in the final year of his five-year term. The constitution bars him from running again.
He has promised to spend his last year in office away from politics to concentrate on boosting the Korean economy and co-hosting the 2002 World Cup football (soccer) finals with Japan.
