U.S. and North Korean officials meeting in Bangkok have failed to reach an agreement on an annual mission to recover the remains of American servicemen missing in action from the Korean War.
Officials of the two countries held four days of talks that ended Saturday without an agreement.
Larry Greer, spokesman for the U.S. Defense Prisoner of War / Missing Personnel Office said Monday that U.S. officials were hopeful they would resume talks later.
More than 8,000 American troops remain missing from the Korean War. U.S. recovery teams have made 27 trips to the North during the last six years and have recovered at least 150 sets of remains believed to be American troops.
