A group of U.S. military experts is in Armenia to discuss military cooperation.
Military sources in the capital, Yerevan, say the visit is in no way connected to U.S. plans to send military trainers to neighboring Georgia.
The U.S. military experts plan to meet with high ranking Armenian defense ministry officials, including Defense Minister Serzhik Sarkisian and the head of the Armenian armed forces, General Mikael Arutyunyan.
The discussions will center on bilateral military cooperation and the defense minister's visit to the United States in March.
The United States agreed earlier this year to give Armenia military assistance worth $4 million. The aid includes military and technological support to Armenia's armed forces.
