The Palestinian woman bomber, who blew herself up at an Israeli checkpoint, was a 21-year-old English literature student from Al-Najah University in Nablus.
The young woman, described as a devout Muslim, has been identified as Darin Abu Aisheh.
She set off explosives strapped to her body during an identity check at an Israeli roadblock in the West Bank on Wednesday night, wounding three Israeli policemen.
Ms. Aisheh was traveling in a car with two Israeli Arabs, who were injured and arrested.
The French news agency reports she left behind a videotape saying she carried out her operation for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement.
On January 27, a Palestinian woman was killed in Jerusalem when the explosives she was carrying blew up, but doubts remain over whether she was on a suicide operation or carrying the explosives to someone else.
Suicide operations by Palestinian women have been rare, as most are carried out by men.
