Pakistan's police have moved the suspected mastermind in the killing of U.S. journalist Daniel Pearl to a new jail in Karachi for security concerns.

Reports say suspect Ahmed Omar Sheikh was transferred to a safer police station Thursday after an anonymous telephone caller threatened to blow up the jail where he was being held if Pakistan decides to send him to the United States for trial.

The Bush administration is asking Pakistan to extradite the confessed mastermind of Mr. Pearl's abduction. The U.S. State Department has announced a five-million-dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who participated in the kidnaping and murder of Mr. Pearl.

The Wall Street Journal reporter disappeared last month as he sought to interview Islamic militants in Karachi. A videotape released last week showed his body being decapitated.

Meanwhile, Pakistan police continue to search for Amjad Hussain Faruqi who is believed to have actually abducted and held Mr. Pearl. The Associated Press says two of the militant's associates were arrested Thursday in eastern Punjab province.
