The United States has sped to the early lead in the four-man bobsled event in Park City, Utah.
Todd Hays led his USA 1 team to a time of one minute, 33.26 seconds after the first two runs. The final two runs will be held later Saturday. The United States has not won an Olympic medal in four-man bobsled in 46 years.
But the United States has won gold in the last three events on the same track, women's bobsled and men's and women's skeleton.
The USA 1 sled has a slim lead, just 9/100ths of a second over Switzerland 1 and Germany 2.
