Third-seeded Amelie Mauresmo of France has defeated fourth-seeded compatriot Sandrine Testud, 6-4, 7-6, to win the Dubai Duty Free Women's tennis Open in the United Arab Emirates.
On Friday, Testud upset American Venus Williams, who was playing with what appeared to be an injured leg. Williams, who has won three tournaments this year, already was in position to overtake countrywoman Jennifer Capriati next week for the top ranking on the WTA tour.
