Japanese share prices closed lower Monday, while the U.S. dollar fell against the Japanese yen.
Tokyo's key Nikkei index dropped 60 points to finish at 10,296.
In late afternoon Tokyo currency trading, the dollar was selling at 133.84 yen, down five tenths of a yen from the same time Friday.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold fell $2.03 to close at $291.25 an ounce.
