Four-time champion Pakistan and title contender Germany posted victories on the second day of the field hockey World Cup in Kuala Lumpur Monday.
Pakistan twice rallied from behind before topping Belgium, 3-2. European champion Germany eased past South Africa, 3-0.
Penalty corner executioner Sohail Abbas scored two goals for Pakistan. He also scored twice in Pakistan's 5-0 win over South Africa Sunday.
Germany's star striker, Oliver Domke, scored two goals as well. Germany slowed down the pace of its match to conserve energy due to the intense humidity that has been troubling all teams.
Spain beat New Zealand in other action, 3-1.
Sixteen teams in two pools are playing to decide who will play in the four contest semifinals on March 7. The gold medal game is two days later.
