The semifinal round is set in the men's Olympic ice hockey tournament with a surprise team still in the running for the gold medal.

Belarus pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Olympic ice hockey history Wednesday, defeating previously undefeated Sweden, 4-3. Belarus will face Canada, which beat Finland, 2-1.

The United States and Russia will again face each other in the semifinal round. The last time the two nations met in the semifinals on U.S. soil was during the 1980 Lake Placid games, when the United States pulled off the so-called "Miracle on Ice." The U.S. squad reached the semifinals with a 5-0 victory over Germany. Russia shut out the defending champion Czech Republic, 1-0.

The women's ice hockey tournament concludes later today with Finland and Sweden playing in the bronze medal game. The host United States plays Canada for the gold medal.
