A U.S. man whose throat had been slashed and who was buried next to his slain son survived the ordeal and led police to those responsible for the crime.
Authorities say the 54-year-old man and his 12-year-old son were kidnapped from their home in Alabama three days ago.
They said the kidnappers, who wanted money and drugs, took the father and son to a construction site. The two men then shot the boy and slashed the father's throat and buried them together. The father, who is in stable condition, dug himself out of the grave and flagged down a passing motorist who called police.
Authorities say the suspects were later arrested and charged with murder.
