A car has exploded in Spain's Basque country, injuring at least two people.
One of the injured has been identified as a member of the Basque region's Socialist Party. First reports indicate there was a bomb placed underneath the car, which was carrying three passengers in all.
The vehicle blew up near a gas station and a grocery store in Sestao, a few kilometers west of Bilbao.
Authorities say it is not clear whether the militant separatist group ETA is involved.
ETA has claimed responsibility more than 800 killings in northern Spain and southern France over the past three decades.
It often uses car bombs and gun threats to accomplish its goals. ETA members want to establish an independent Basque state.
