Spanish golfer Paula Marti has won her third professional title on the third sudden death playoff hole against Australian Karen Pearce at the Australian Ladies Players Championship.
The two had identical 1-under-par, 72s Saturday on the Horizons course at Salamander Bay, finishing the three rounds of regulation tied at three-under (216).
Marti had a one-shot lead with two holes to go, but bogeyed the 17th. She finally won the event on the third extra hole with a par while Pearce needed three putts to find the cup.
Thailand's Prayad Marksaeng and India's Vijay Kumar are tied for the lead heading into Sunday's final round of the Indian Masters golf tournament in Gurgaon, India.
Kumar shot a par-71 Saturday, while Marksaeng scored a 72, despite a double bogey on the last hole, for a three-round total of seven-under (206). Marksaeng had an eagle on the 15th hole.
Tied for third in the Asian tour event, one shot back, are Craig Kamps of South Africa, and Harmeet Kahlon of India.
Overnight leader Jeev Milkha Singh of India - a regular on the European tour - slipped to a five-way tie for fifth place after a 76 on Saturday.
