The Bulgarian Olympic Committee has announced that it will enter a bid to host the Winter Olympics in 2014.
Local media in Bulgaria reported Saturday that Bulgarian Olympic Committee president Ivan Slavkov has informed International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge of the decision to bid for Sofia.
It will be the Bulgarian capital's third attempt to host the Games. Two earlier bids failed. Rogge was a member of the IOC team evaluating Sofia's sports facilities during its failed bids for the 1992 and 1994 Games.
