Venus Williams Wins Diamond Games Tennis In Belgium

Top-seeded American Venus Williams has defeated Belgian teenager Justine Henin to capture the Diamond Games tennis title in Antwerp, Belgium.
Williams needed more than two hours Sunday to defeat the second-seeded Henin, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. The win moves the world number two one step closer to the top women's ranking currently held by compatriot Jennifer Capriati. The American now has 4-1 lifetime record against Henin, with their most memorable encounter at last year's Wimbledon final, which Williams won in three sets.
Top-seeded American Monica Seles has captured the Qatar Open tennis title in Doha with a straight-sets victory over Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand.
Seles needed one hour and 33 minutes to capture her first tournament title of the year Sunday as she defeated her Thai challenger, 7-6, 6-3.
