Key Figure in Africa Illegal Weapon, Diamonds Trade is Arrested

Belgian police have arrested a man identified as one of Africa's leading traffickers of weapons and diamonds.
On Thursday, a spokesman for the Brussels prosecutor's office confirmed the arrest of Sanjivan Ruprah, a Kenyan based in Liberia.
U.S. and British officials say Mr. Ruprah is a key figure in the illegal diamond trade which helps fuel conflicts in West and Central Africa. He has been identified as a key supplier of weapons to rebels in Sierra Leone.
