40 Muslim pilgrims heading to Mecca for the annual hajj pilgrimage have been killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.
Most of the dead are Pakistani. Their bus collided with a truck in eastern Saudi Arabia early Wednesday.
The Saudi press agency says the bus, from the United Arab Emirates, was carrying about 60 pilgrims.
This year Saudi authorities are expecting up to 2.5 million people to perform the hajj, which begins on February 20 in Mecca.
