Just two days after breaking a track record, four-time Formula 1 champ Michael Schumacher has set an even faster mark at the Fiorano circuit in Italy.
Test-driving the new F-2002 Ferrari Tuesday, Schumacher completed a lap of the three (2.976) kilometer circuit in a time of 58.378 seconds. That was 0.242 second faster than the previous record he set Sunday.
Ferrari's new car was unveiled at company headquarters last week and was test-driven for the first time on Sunday. Ferrari officials plan to test the car for two weeks before deciding whether to enter the new car, or use the 2001 model when the championship season opens March 3 at the Australian Grand Prix.
