Bush, Annan to Meet at White House

President Bush and U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan will meet at the White House in Washington later Wednesday for talks the White House says will focus on Afghanistan and other issues.
The meeting is scheduled for 1930 universal time (2:30 p.m. EST).
The White House announced the meeting late Tuesday. White House National Security spokesman Sean McCormick says Mr. Annan made a request to meet with the president.
The secretary-general was already due to be in Washington to meet with U.S. lawmakers on efforts to stop the global spread of AIDS.
