Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma said Russia and Ukraine should export refined oil products in greater quantities instead of focusing mainly on the export of crude oil.

Mr. Kuchma made his comments Tuesday while in the Siberian city of Surgut for meetings with the city's mayor Alexander Sidorov and top officials of the local gas production company Surgutnmeftegaz.

The Ukrainian leader is on a three-day visit to Western Siberia, accompanied by a group of Ukrainian businessmen who plan to establish direct contacts with their Russian counterparts.
