Yugoslavian basketball star Pedrag Stojakovic has become the first European player to win the National Basketball Association's All-Star three-point shooting contest title, beating out nine other superb marksmen.
Stojakovic, of the Sacramento Kings, was tied with Cleveland's Wesley Person in the final round of the shootout Saturday in Philadelphia before winning a tie-breaker.
Stojakovic, who was the runner-up in the contest last year, is one of a record five international players taking part in Sunday's NBA All-Star game. The others are Steve Nash of Canada, Dirk Nowitzki of Germany, Dikembe Mutombo of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Tim Duncan of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
