Producer prices in Britain rose for the second consecutive month in January, indicating the slump in manufacturing that's been hurting Europe's second-largest economy for years may be ending.

The government said prices for manufactured goods rose 0.1 percent.

Analysts say the figures indicate business will be better than last year, but increases the chance the Bank of England will raise interest rates so inflation doesn't get out of control. The bank cut borrowing costs several times last year in an effort to stimulate the British economy.
