Police in Indian-controlled Kashmir say security forces have shot dead two Muslim militants who had barricaded themselves inside a mosque.
Authorities say the militants died in a fierce exchange of gunfire late Friday. The mosque in Titugund was damaged as the day-long siege came to a violent end.
The incident marked the second time in a week that militants fighting for Kashmir's independence from India took refuge in a mosque in the disputed Himalayan region.
On Monday, two separatists surrendered to police after a 30-hour siege in the town of Sopore.
