Iran has summoned Jordan's ambassador to protest King Abdullah's support of U.S. allegations that Iran supports terrorism.

A Jordanian Embassy official said Wednesday Iran's Foreign Ministry demanded an explanation from Ambassador Bassam Al-Omoush about the king's statement, which he made during a visit to the White House last week.

Sitting next to President Bush, the Jordanian monarch said he "tremendously" endorsed Mr. Bush's "view and position" on countries supporting terrorism.

King Abdullah said it is obvious that there are countries on the side of good and those that are on the side of bad, and some countries in the Middle East have not yet made up their mind.

President Bush has branded Iran, Iraq and North Korea as an "axis of evil" for supporting terrorism and seeking to acquire weapons of mass destruction.
