Thailand's navy is warning ships sailing along the Thai east coast to steer clear of a floating shipwreck believed to contain hundreds of tons of liquefied petroleum gas.
The navy says an advisory has been issued for ships traveling in the Gulf of Thailand, off Trat province. The wreckage of a gas tanker, which sank in 1996, is said to have floated to the surface Tuesday.
A navy captain tells the Associated Press that the ship could explode if hit by a passing ship.
