In what was billed as a battle of the best records among National Basketball Association teams, only the New Jersey Nets showed up to play. The Nets, the top team of the East, clobbered West leader Sacramento, 117-83. Jason Kidd had 14 points, seven assists and seven rebounds while Keith Van Horn had 25 points for New Jersey.

The loss was just the second in 19 games for the Kings.

Elsewhere in the NBA, Vince Carter scored 13 of his 28 points in the third quarter, leading the Toronto Raptors to a 100-93 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Allen Iverson led the Sixers with 36 points but was ejected after getting his second technical foul with six-point three seconds left in the game.

David Robinson scored 13 points and pulled down 15 rebounds and six players scored in double figures as the San Antonio Spurs blasted the Minnesota Timberwolves, 113-83. The Spurs, who snapped a four-game home losing streak, played much of the second half without Tim Duncan, who was ejected, along with Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, early in the third quarter.

And Steve Francis made 18 of 22 free throws and scored 33 points while teammate Cuttino Mobley added 30 to lead the Houston Rockets to a 104-97 win over the Utah Jazz. Karl Malone had 31 points and 12 rebounds for the Jazz.
