South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung has replaced his foreign minister in a follow-up to a sweeping Cabinet reshuffle last week.
Foreign Minister Han Seung-Soo was replaced Monday by Vice Foreign Minister Choi Sung-Hong.
Mr. Han was asked to resign after he returned from a trip to the United States, where he had been preparing for a visit to South Korea by President Bush later this month.
President Kim reshuffled his cabinet last Tuesday, replacing eight ministers in a bid to counter the perception that his administration was mired by scandal.
Presidential elections are scheduled later this this.
