A Thai boxer has died one day after collapsing during a fight with a Russian fighter in the beach resort city of Pattaya, about 160 kilometers southeast of Bangkok. Chatchai Phaisithong, 28, collapsed late Friday in the ring while fighting Alexi Berarut at the fifth Sua Thong Thai boxing tournament. Chatchai's blood pressure dropped dramatically after he was admitted to the Krungthep Pattaya Hospital. On Monday, doctors said the fighter had died on Saturday. Doctors say the death was categorized as heart failure. But the exact cause of death could not be ascertained because Chatchai's family refused to allow an autopsy.
