Yen Up, Stocks Down in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar fell against the yen Monday afternoon, while prices on the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed lower.
In Tokyo, the dollar was trading at 133.42 yen, down .52 yen from Friday afternoon and below its late Friday level of 133.43 yen in New York.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's Nikkei Average lost 160 points (1.63 percent) to finish at 9,632 points. On Friday, the average fell 206 points.
In Hong Kong, the price of gold rose 90 cents to close at $286.55 an ounce.
