The World All Stars have defeated North America, 8-5, in the 52nd National ice Hockey League All Star Game in Los Angeles.

The North Americans led the game for 57 of its 60 minutes, but a four goal rally in the final three minutes lifted the World All Stars to the win. Markus Naslund of the Vancouver Canucks and Teemu Selanne of the San Jose Sharks had two goals each for the world team.

Eric Daze of the Chicago Blackhawks led the North Americans All Stars with two goals. The game was the last NHL contest before the Winter Olympics get underway in Salt Lake City, Utah Friday night.
